About Me

“I’m Simon, a garden designer based in Castle Donington, in the East Midlands. I believe every garden should be as individual as the persons who own it. I help homeowners create beautiful, thoughtful outdoor spaces that genuinely work for how they live.

After 25 years running my own photography business, I retrained in something I’ve always been passionate about—garden design and horticulture. I graduated with distinction from Oxford College of Garden Design in 2024 and established Bunney Garden Design in 2025. My background in photography gave me a keen eye for composition, balance and the way people experience a space, qualities that continue to influence every garden I design.

What my previous career taught me most, however, was the importance of listening. Every project begins by understanding how you want to live in your garden, before translating those ideas into a design that feels personal, practical and timeless. From initial sketches and mood boards through to detailed, build-ready drawings, I work closely with clients to create gardens that feel like a natural extension of their home.
